Xtendra® solutions based on ascorbyl palmitate is now gaining momentum. Ascorbyl palmitate is a lipid soluble derivative of vitamin C (ascorbic acid), widely used in infant formula.
Physiologically, it breaks down in the digestive tract and releases vitamin C and palmitic acid. It has been overlooked by the animal nutrition industry but is now getting attention.
Xtendra® products based on ascorbyl palmitate combined with mixed tocopherols provide an attractive alternative antioxidant protection for rendered fats and oils and for low-moisture products.
Besides they can be combined with the more traditional antioxidants to boost the activity.
